With a diverse business background, Ms. Birhane provides Core Compliance & Legal Services, Inc. ℠ (“Core Compliance”) with a breadth of knowledge to serve as the firm’s Operations and HR Manager. Working side-by-side the CEO, Ms. Birhane helps to advance the firm’s operations and support our clients’ needs through strategic planning and client servicing initiatives. Throughout her career, her experience has included helping entrepreneurs expand their business and revenue sources.
Prior to joining Core Compliance, Ms. Birhane worked as Director of Operations at Urban Translations, a digital software company, where she was instrumental in developing and managing strategic partnerships and overseeing all aspects of the firm’s operations. Prior to that, she served as Marketing and Operations Manager at two start-up firms, where she oversaw and managed various marketing, operations and sales initiatives for these organizations, and was able to help raise over $1 Million in initial seed round funding. Most recently, Ms. Birhane worked for a Fortune 500 staffing firm, where she helped the San Diego legal division grow their overall revenue by $200,000.
Ms. Birhane received her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was awarded the Vice Provost Recognition Award for Academic Achievement. She then went on to receive her juris doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law, where her passion for working with non-profits and underserved communities led her to serve as Vice-President of the Black Law Student Association (BLSA). As Vice President, she was instrumental in spearheading “Know Your Rights” presentations at the Los Angeles Boys and Girls Clubs. Moreover, she was awarded a certificate of appreciation from the Palmer Center for her work with Pepperdine University’s Micro-Enterprise Program, a non-profit organization, which matches qualified students with underprivileged members of the Los Angeles community. It was through this program that she helped participants start businesses and execute their business plans.
